colostrum leaky gut reddit
Any folks here have experience with colostrum?
Papers out there suggested it helps healing the gut from NSAID damage...will be taking it the coming weeks and report back (Jarrows Colostrum for those who are wondering)

Colostrum is the only thing that has helped my leaky gut. I started taking it about three weeks ago, and it has been a like a miracle product. All my food sensitivities are gone and my horrific rosacea has completely disappeared. I tried everything under the sun before this and got no results or had such bad side effects that I couldn't keep taking the stuff. Glutamine made me super sick and it also causes and feeds cancer. Collagen made me sick. Soil based probiotics can cause weight gain, so I avoided those. S. Boulardii caused the worst constipation I've ever had. A lot of the other recommended treatments can cause liver or kidney damage. Colostrum is definitely what I'd recommend, but with a word of caution. The brand I've been taking has caused hormone issues for me, which I've read can happen with some brands. Im going to buy a different kind today in hopes that it won't contain estrogen.

Cool, which brand are you using and how did you figure out it contained estrogen? I started taking it two days ago and i do feel a relief in my headaches.

Sounds good, but with colostrum alone I wouldn't expect a miracle. Do you have your diet, sleep and stress in check? What other supps are you taking?

Paleo diet, and with microdosing cbd i finally got my stress and sleep under control. Taking papayine enzymes to make my digestion easier (betaine hcl caused headaches), bone broth on the daily (glutamine powder alone caused headache), homemade kefir and biokult probiotics on the daily. Vitamin levels were all ok, so one vitamin pill per week should suffice. Any other suggestions?

Starting it today. How much do you plan on taking?

I'm taking 1 500mg in the morning before breakfast and 1 at night, usual about 2 hours before going to bed.

I felt I had good results with Capra colostrum a few years ago when I added it to much of what you describe below diet/lifestyle wise. I took it for about 6 months to help with my lupus symptoms and I do believe it helped reduce inflammation long term (likely by proxy of leaky gut which is often an underlying cause of autoimmune issues like lupus). I'm certainly in MUCH better health today than I was years ago and I have no way of knowing for sure but I do personally believe that Capra colostrum was one of the contributing factors to my overall healing. I plan to repeat the trial once I am finished breastfeeding as part of my restorative post-partum plan.

Thanks so much for responding and I'm glad you are in much better health! I'll take it for a couple weeks and let you know if i feel similar :) on top of that i'll retest my zonulin levels to distinguish my opinion from a clinical marker :) will let you know!
