Is Polaris Ride Command Worth The Money
Ride command
Looking at getting a RZR but not sure if ride command is worth it? Some questions for you experts:
Does ride command still work if you don't have cell reception?
How many GoPros can you attach to the RC at once?
What's the main benefit for RC? Tracking others in your party?
Is it easy to install RC aftermarket?
Are there any other aftermarket options similar to RC?
Thanks!

RC after market will be very expensive.
I have a iPad mini 4 in a Otter Box Defender case mounted on the roll bar with a RAM Mount. This takes signal from my dash mounted Dual GPS 160 receiver in waterproof holder (hard to find the holder now) This combo gives you Ride command tracking without cell signal BUT when you start everything up you need to be on WiFi. When logged on, ride started and tracking you can shut off the wifi hotspot or however you obtain signal and you are good to go. I love Ride command set up this way and so much cheaper than the factory $1500 install. Message me if you need more info on this setup. https://www.dualgpssolutions.com/explore-by-product/xgps160

This is a great idea. So just to clarify you have a GPS receiver that connects via Bluetooth to your iPad? Do you run music from your ipad as well?
Also, maybe I'm missing something about Ride Command. But if you have multiple atvs in your party, how do the atvs know where the others are at if there is no cell reception?

Hello. Do they sell a kit? I also have a Turbo S Velocity and have been thinking about the upgrade. What was the ballpark price?

Yes.
0. It tracks your group. Plays your music, shows lots of machine info. I wouldn't call it easy but it can be done. No.
The ride command system that polaris offers is incredible. I've had it on my last 3 machines and won't have one without it. In my riding group about 8-10 other machines have it and it's a game changer sending messages to each other and seeing them on he map. It's also the entertainment center, and shows all your phone stuff if you want. I can't believe polaris doesn't advertise it more. It's a huge advantage over the competition.

I have the ride command, the GPS is useless when driving. Too small of a display and not near bright enough.

I have a 2018 turbo 4 and I installed the new 7 button ride command myself. I will never go without now. The RC unit has 3 antenna inputs 1 for AM/FM, 1 for GPS, and 1 for Car2Car(uses a cell antenna). Basically the car2car is how you do the group rides. If someone has the older RC it uses a paired cell phone for group ride and is a little clunky. The 7 button RC has 3 audio outputs for stereo equipment and it works really well with no noise I can hear. I also did front and rear cameras. The install kits I had to buy plus antennas were about $550 this included cameras dash parts and wiring. you have to cut the dash for the 7 button to fit but I would not go with an older RC. I found the main unit for 800$ on ebay so all in I was 1350 plus my time to install and I could not be happier. I also have PCI intercom and radios I wired the 3rd audio out of the RC to the audio on intercom so I can hear my music when using them and then I wired amps to a switch so I can turn them off and on depending how and where I ride. I have never tried a GoPro but I have one and will give it a test and report back.
